STIHL GARDEN PRUNER WITH CORDLESS POWER

CHOOSING THE RIGHT PRUNING SHEARS AND SECATEURS
You can ensure better fruit tree growth and a greater yield by regularly cutting back twigs and branches. What’s more, by removing dead parts of the tree, you’ll prevent rot from spreading and eliminate the risk of accidents from falling branches. However, it’s worth noting that you’ll need different tools for different plants. When choosing a cutting tool, you also need to consider whether the branches are still fresh and green or if they’re old and dry. Shears that use a bypass mechanism are great for green cuttings. For dry, harder wood, we recommend shears with an anvil mechanism.
ANVIL AND BYPASS SECATEURS: WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE?
STIHL bypass secateurs with single-hand clasp have two crossing-over blades which are perfectly coordinated so that you can make clean cuts without crushing the cuttings. The bypass mechanism is best suited to cutting fresh wood such as young shoots, roses and green wood, as this tool is as gentle on your plants as possible. To ensure that sap and dirt do not cause the blades to get stuck together, lots of our bypass secateurs have a practical sap groove. Last but not least, the integrated wire-cutting notch means that you won’t need an additional tool when you’re fixing vines.
With anvil secateurs, the sharpened blade cuts through the wood before hitting a smooth, unsharpened surface which is referred to as an anvil. This method makes cutting through dead and hard wood an absolute breeze. Anvil pruning shears or secateurs do not require a great deal of force, so you can work for long periods without overexerting yourself or straining your joints.
